MEDIA RELEASE
Approximately two months out from the release date of your book, we will create an attention-grabbing press release which, once approved by you, we will send to a large and tailored list of media contacts nationwide.
INTERVIEWS & REVIEWS
Once your book has been pitched, we will liaise regularly with you as media interest and interview/review requests come in. We will also send you a tailored spreadsheet of reviewers for your book, so you can dispatch review copies to designated media.
WHEN SHOULD YOU GET IN TOUCH?
As soon as possible please! Even while you're still writing your book is fine. We're always happy to have a no-obligation chat with you. We also offer Self Publish consults which are super useful for self-publishing authors.
Something you may not know is that book publicists need two months notice before a book is launched, to do the best job for you. Oh and media expect us to send them information on NEW books so please contact us for a chat before you try marketing or selling your book yourself.
SELF PUBLISHING CONSULTATIONS
There are many things to consider when self-publishing, everything from editing, design, production, distribution and marketing – some of which can be confusing when you are new to publishing. Lighthouse Keeper Karen McKenzie has 15+ years experience as a book publicist and is also a successful self-published author under the name ‘Karen McMillan,’ with her books regularly making the bestseller lists. By booking a consultation with Karen, authors are able to take advantage of Karen's extensive insider knowledge and learn the ins and outs of self publishing, produce a book they are proud of, and avoid the many pitfalls that exist.
